Starr Hill Brewery to expand business in US
US-based craft brewery Starr Hill Brewery is planning to expand into the Philadelphia market from October 2012.
Starr Hill Brewery founder Mark Thompson said Philadelphia is one of the most sophisticated craft beer markets in the US.
"Twelve years ago it was our dream to open a world-class craft brewery in Charlottesville, Virginia, and that dream became a reality," Thompson added.
As part of the expansion, the brewery will make available its entire products which include Northern Lights, Boxcar Pumpkin Porter , The Love , Jomo Lager, Dark Starr Stout, Festie, Starr Pils, Double Platinum, All Access as well as variety packs.
Penn Distributors and Gretz Beer Company will distribute Starr Hill beers in Philadelphia.
Gretz Distributing president and chief executive officer Mike Gretz Sr said Gretz looks forward to work with the brewery to build its brand in Philadelphia.
Penn Distributors president and chief operating officer Matt Funchion said, "Mark Thompson is one of the most respected brewers in the country, and we could not be happier to be distributing Starr Hill's full lineup of award-winning beers."
Founded in 1999, Starr Hill Brewery brews more than 20 brands of beer representing a variety of beer styles and has established market in Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina, US.
