Tennent Caledonian unveils premium bottled ale collection

Published 28 March 2017

Tennent Caledonian has unveiled a new range of premium bottled beers under the Caledonia Collection name.

The three beers have a 5% alcohol by volume (ABV), with each of the beers having its own, unique flavour profile.

Customers across the UK can buy 500ml bottles, starting this month, initially in Tesco and Co-Op stores.

The brewery also noted that it has used locally sourced malted barley, which is claimed to have been the company’s ethos of using local materials to produce high quality Scottish beers.

The company says that the new product range has been created to support the new trend among alcohol shoppers, which is to try different and new products.

Caledonia has been created to provide a variety of  tasting quality ales, perfect for any occasion, from Scotland’s longest operating brewer – exactly what the consumer is looking for.

As per Tennent Caledonian, the Caledonia Outpost IPA’s flavour has its influence from the beer which was produced by the company back in the 1850s. It has a subtle fruity flavour notes, dominated by strong, malty grain flavours along with punchy, hoppy character.

Caledonia Double Hop has a slightly sweet and fruity flavour. The beer has clear bitterness mied with subtle hoppy finish.

Caledonia Hopscotch is a whisky oak beer which has a smokey, wood flavour and a hint of vanilla. The beer is slightly sweet with distinct bitterness.

Wendy Espie, Senior Brand Manager at Tennent’s said: “Unveiling our new ‘Caledonia’ range by projecting on the banks of Loch Katrine, a key ingredient of the beers is really special for us, even more so as this is the first time the loch has been used in this way.

“The beers which are available now in Tesco and Co-Op represent a contemporary Scotland so we’re delighted to have been able to launch in a modern way, by projecting their image onto the beautiful surrounds of Loch Katrine to really emphasise the link between the beers and their key ingredient.

“We’ve created the ‘Caledonia’ collection to meet the needs of our customers, looking for a quality range of beers from a trusted brewer. We’re thrilled to introduce three new great tasting beers, bursting with fantastic flavours at a time when passion for great beer is at a real high.”
